Welcome to Searchlight. A survey through scripture with Pastor John Corson. It is our desire to bring you a

systematic study of the entire Bible chapter by chapter book by book. As we continue our study through the book of Joshua,

we are getting a picture of the spirit-filled Christian life.

Today we will begin a verse by verse look at chapter 11 and see the impressive military

strategy of Joshua.

This is helpful for us to understand because we are also engaged in battles in our life and the strategy that Joshua employs is useful to us.

Let's now join Pastor John as he explains these strategies to us.

Joshua chapter 11.

As you know, the book of Joshua is a picture, an illustration, a type of the spirit-filled life. The people of Israel

were in bondage in Egypt for 400 years. They were set free miraculously by the Lord through the man Moses. They were free from Egypt. Egypt is a type of the world. And they were set free when they cried out in desperation.

Whosoever the Bible says shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

And then they were baptized as the Red Sea parted.

1 Corinthians tells us that such a thing was actually an illustration of water baptism.

So they're saved from Egypt by the blood that was placed upon the posts of the
