that you still call them Oakland Raiders as well.

Josh Jacobs is back and Josh Jacobs makes history under the franchise tag.

This thing's been around for 30 years.

He was due to make 10.1 million.

Now let's rewind just a few weeks, say one Barclay, same franchise tag, same amount, different

team obviously.

10.1 became a deal worth up to like almost 11 with the 10.1 base and 900,000 in incentives

that are all based on some pretty significant achievements for Barclay this year.

Josh Jacobs takes that 10.1 and turns it into a base guarantee of 11.8 with 200,000 in

incentives.

This is the first time ever that a team with a player under the franchise tag where the

deadline has come and gone for doing a long term deal gave the player more money right

out of the gates to get him to show up on a one year deal with lamp sprigs and Albert

Haynesworth, their teams had agreed to just not tag them the next year.

The Raiders did not agree to not tag Jacobs next year, but they've driven the number up

so high this year.

It works out to about 26 million over two years if they tag him again and 26 million over

two years right now for a running back is pretty damn good.
