show, I'll be reading from a book written by Josephus about 2,000 years ago.

The title of the book is The Wars of the Jews.

It's part of Josephus's corpus, the different writings that he did, which include the life of Flavius Josephus.

So it's Josephus's autobiography, The Antiquities of the Jews, which is a lengthy history book of the Jews going back to Genesis, really.

And it's a very lengthy book.

But this one, I'm going to just read book five and six from the wars of the Jews.

And book five starts with the coming of Titus to besiege Jerusalem.

And Josephus is an important historical figure.

He mentions Jesus Christ in one of his writings stating, quote,

Now there was about this time Jesus a wise man, if it would be lawful to call him a man,

for he is a doer of wonderful works, a teacher

of such men as received the truth with pleasure. He drew over to him both many of the Jews and many

of the Gentiles. He was Christ. And when Pilate, at the suggestion of the principal men amongst us,

had condemned him to the cross, those that loved him at the first did not forsake him, for he appeared to them alive again the third day, as the divine prophets had foretold these and 10,000 other wonderful things concerning him, and the tribe of Christians so named from him, are not extinct at this day, unquote.

And Christ mentions a number of things about the destruction of Jerusalem. Here's Matthew 24-1 and 2.
