But we're going to start today with Joseph Osai's knee injury, a torn meniscus of some sort, and the initial report is that he'll be out

for potentially up to the year.

And that report in and of itself tells us

that they're probably not just cutting the meniscus out.

There are different kinds of meniscus repairs

and meniscus treatments when the meniscus is torn

in different ways.

And Dr. Brandon Bowers is here to tell us all about it.

So when you see the initial news report from Tom Pelliserra that Joseph Osai could miss up to the year,

what are your initial takeaways from just that bit of news?

You know, your little lead in there really hit the nail on the head.

This is a differentiator between the meniscus clean out or what we call the minisectomy where they go in and they just trim out the damaged portion versus a true

meniscus repair. So the meniscus is a piece of cartilage inside of the knee and depending

on where it's torn and the size of the tear dictates how they manage it. In his case being

that they mentioned this could be a season endingending issue, there's got to be a pretty

sizable tear in there that needs to be repaired. So that's what we're looking at here with

Osai with this first report. And given the range of recovery windows for this kind of surgery,
