There was a famous study down in Somerville, Massachusetts in the 1930s, large-scale attempt to remediate poverty in the 1930s large-scale attempt to remediate poverty in the hopes of

decreasing antisocial behavior and alcoholism and all hosts of

under terrible social outcomes. Kids were divided into two groups. It turned out that the intervention groups, the kids that have been granted all this

on the attention by the authorities did worse on virtually every outcome.
