Hello, my name's Tim and you're listening to Nomad Podcast.

This month, we're pondering new forms of worship

and mission and looking to see where there's a connection between the two. To help us do this,

I'll be having a chat with Johnny Baker, the author, speaker and blogger on all things alternative

and emerging in the world of worship, mission and culture. After I've had a natu with Johnny,

our little community

will be trying to figure out what it all means for us. So there you go. Brace yourself for

another 40 minutes or so of Nomad Podcast. This month, I have the pleasure of welcoming to Nomad podcast, Mr Johnny Baker.

Tim, hi, good to be with you.

For those out there who perhaps don't know you and the work you do,

could you begin by telling us a bit about yourself?

Sure.

I'm coming up for 45 years old, married, got two kids. My background's in youth

work, which I was involved in for several years. And I guess my interest in alternative worship

things happened because I was working with young people who were outside of the church. We set up

a nightclub in Bath where I was working at the time.

And even though we were running a kind of relevant youth event with youth for Christ at the time,

that lots of church youth groups came to and loved and was good fun,

we quickly realized that the young people come into the club weren't

going to make that leap across.
