Anyway, at the American Enterprise Institute,

very thoughtful observer of and participant in

our national public life in general.

It's kind of you to say.

And sort of conservatism in particular I would say so I

think we had a conversation in the summer and it was about the meaning of candidate

Trump I guess nominee Trump at that point right now we have, we're speaking three weeks after

election day, we now have President-elect Trump. What is, what's your, what's your take

on that? What does it mean? Well, it's like you should get a Mrs Lincoln joke in there somewhere.

I have to say, you know, I, you know, as like I'm sure you did, I talked to a lot of reporters doing sort of thumb suck pieces about

What the Trump campaign means and what will mean once Hillary wins and then and I'd always was I was in this mindset of my gosh if you know if

Trump wins which I didn't think was going to happen I'm hardly alone in that judgment. I've always thought it would be very

difficult, not impossible for him to win the popular vote and I was right.

Right, right, right. But I kind of assumed given how out there I was on all of this, that I would be in a deep, horrible

funk about it if he won, and it turns out I'm not.
