0:25.2	So last episode we covered Johnny Depp's lawsuit against the Sun in the UK,
0:29.8	and today we're going to be covering the highly publicized trial for his defamation claims against
0:37.1	Amber Heard in the US. But we wanted to address some things before we dive into the facts and the
0:44.0	substance and all of the material from the trial. So I'll hand it off to Angela.
0:49.2	So for the last episode, just wanted to let everybody know that I took your comments to heart.
0:54.0	We've made some changes to the last episode, and we've worked really hard on this episode
0:58.9	in light of those comments. And also, I'm about to go do some quick vocal warm-ups because I'm
1:03.5	losing my voice. I do want to acknowledge that this is a defamation case, and at the heart of
1:08.9	defamation cases is testing the truth via the evidence presented in the trial. So it will naturally
1:15.2	come across ink coverage as if we don't believe Amber, and on the flip side as if we don't believe
1:22.4	Johnny. That's an unfortunate side effect of the law of defamation. If you'll recall, we covered
1:28.4	Brandy Glantville statements against Joanna Krupa that was also a defamation claim. However,
1:33.4	the topic there was very different. It was about the smelliness of a body part versus here. It's
1:39.2	about very dark allegations of abuse. We're going to try and be as respectful as we can while analyzing
1:45.4	the allegations made by both sides. We're really focusing on the law in this episode, and on that note,
1:52.0	I really just hope that this case doesn't discourage people that are abusive relationships
1:57.6	from going in seeking help and from going in seeking justice through the court system. We want to
2:02.9	address some of the topics that have made this case so personal and so difficult for a lot of people.
