Nice to be here. So your family goes back in Napa quite a long ways.

Yeah, we're pretty much one of the original families. We came my

Mother's ancestors came to California right at the time of statehood. Really that's quite a long time.

Yeah, my, I think he's my great-great-grandfather was Governor Boggs.

He was the governor of Missouri.

They don't say Missouri out there.

And his claim to fame is that he's the guy who

threw the Mormons out of Missouri when they were on their way to find their final place which of course was Utah.

The last Mormon out actually shot him when he was standing on the front porch of the

State House.

He was then impeached for reasons that are not in his self-aggrandizing

journal, which we have in the family archive. And so he headed to California with Donner, actually, the famous guy who ended up stuck at the over near

Lake Tahoe and they were all eating each other took Donner for a cooke when on the Oregon trail

ended up in Petaluma. His first kid was born at the Vallejo Adobe.

That was General Vallejo, who was then the Mexican ruler of Northern California. So I think a corrupt politician

could get a job in Mexican California and that's how we got to start out here.

It's like Plymouth Rock on the other side though. Yeah, yeah. So we were among the first to be out here. His kid, Boggs's kid was Kit Carson's buddy and young Boggs and Carson were actually the first guys to drive

Eastern cattle as they called them out to the West Coast so...

Because your grandfather was a cattle ranchry.
