teacher's strike, but it really is about all the workers at LA Unified. It is about, John, it's about

respect. The cafeteria workers, the bus drivers, the in-classroom aides, all walked out

30,000 and the teachers walked out in sympathy. And this is day three, which means they should

be back tomorrow, but they're saying they'll go out again because they still haven't gotten what

they want. Because they're uncaring racists taking advantage of poor minority kids and their parents who don't have the leverage to stop this sort of thing.

They would never get away with this in a suburban district or at a private school or a parochial school.

And these are the underprivileged kids who don't have that kind of clout.

And their parents don't have that kind of clout and their parents don't have

that kind of clout. They're really being abused by this crowd.

The Times finally did a story on the parents. There's something called strike camp, which I guess is some sort of daycare,

but they're hard to find for the parents to find a place to drop their kid because they've got to work.

All these, all these like goody good stories about, hey, here's an alternative.
