The story concerning the murder of the Riverside County Sheriff's deputy.

We had the sheriff Chad Bianco on earlier this week to talk about the fault of a judge giving a three-striker. Bail. Hard to believe. He got picked up again and he got bond again. We think maybe it was not from the same judge the second time, but still, the mistake was made and he went out and killed the sheriff's deputy. I'm going to talk to a former prosecutor after the news at 2.30, who also couldn't believe that this happened. It's like

unheard of to give a convicted three-striker bond. This is a very dangerous guy with a long

violent history. So that'll come up this hour. Right now, we begin with California's, well, it's back, which we predicted a couple of years ago.

There would be another budget fiasco.

The state apparently had a big surplus last year, near $100 billion.

Suddenly, it's a $22.5 billion budget whole they're projecting.

And the reason is simple.

It was a pretty bad year,

2022 for the stock markets and the capital gains. The top 0.5% of taxpayers pay 40% of the state's

income tax. So you can see when things diminish there, so does the take in Sacramento.

California's general fund revenue went up to $210.5 billion last year.

It was $146 billion in 2019.

According to the Wall Street Journal, near zero interest rates inflated asset prices.
