Today we have an interview with an absolute musical legend.

John Fogarty, who was of course the voice, songwriter, and lead guitarist for Credence Clearwater Revival,

one of the greatest bands of the 1960s.

John has a new album out, August 22nd, called Legacy, the Credence Clearwater Revival Years, in which he re-recorded

some of Credence's greatest hits, and yes, he calls them John's versions. Two years ago, after

decades of legal battles, John finally got the rights back to Credence's songs, and now, I guess,

understandably, he wants versions of the recordings that he owns, too. But it was all a great excuse to look back at the roots of credence and a whole lot more.

Here's my interview with John Foggerty.

I want to know, have you ever seen the rain?

John, right before we got started, you were mentioning your friend Bruce Springsteen's confrontation with Donald Trump.

Obviously, you know Bruce well and you know protest music.

What do you make of Trump calling out Bruce by name after his on-stage protest?

Well, first of all, I'm really proud of Bruce for, you know, just sticking up for his values and not being afraid to voice them.

Even though they are very similar, President Nixon would have never, he would have realized

not to give the other side that publicity by acknowledging and talking about it because you just

make it more famous when you do that.

He's so unprecedented that it's,

we're all used to that now.

He spends all his time on TikTok.

I mean,

aren't there more pressing things to do if you're president?
