We have a lot of things preached to us all the time, not just from pulpits on Sunday mornings, but on social media everywhere, really.

And honestly, sometimes we have trouble knowing what theology is right, especially because everyone sounds so smart and passionate and convincing.

We have influencers say things like, you are enough. And then

others that say, no, you aren't enough. Only God is. And then things like, God wants you to be happy.

And then others who say, no, God isn't concerned with your happiness at all. And we wind up not

knowing what to believe. It can be truly confusing. I want to talk about that today and how to know

what's right in this culture of spin on Joe.

So first, let's get into what's the difference between wisdom and discernment because I've said

before that wisdom is the number one ask of God,

in my opinion, we should make, and I stand by that. The reason I say that is because I believe

wisdom comes before discernment, and I also believe they are two different things that are on

the same track, very close actually. Wisdom is that overall sense, almost an an anointing of the spirit you get

from the spirit that helps you then discern, make decisions about what to do in your life.

Without wisdom, you won't have discernment. So that's the primary ask, in my opinion. But the word

discern and its derivatives are translations of the Greek word anachrono in the

New Testament.

It means to distinguish, to separate out by diligent search to examine.
