How has your month been?

Inch by? I feel like every month

just flies by anymore, at least for me. The note we are ending on today in our First

thing's first series is a sweet one for me because I love stories. I love hearing the stories

of so many of you all over the world, really, as I travel around and I get the honor of meeting

you at events or even random places. I just met a listener and online friend in New York City

all the way from Australia back in December. We both happened to be in the city on the same date,

if you can believe it, and how awesome it was to hug her and connect face to face. Stories are powerful and

life-changing and we impact people with our stories. And yet, sometimes we don't fully understand

the most important part of our story. And I want to get into that today on Joe.

Back when this show was called the Five Word Prayers Daily, we did a show or maybe even two on our story.

It's a really important thing to understand and use well because how we share our story determines whether or not it becomes voyeurism of fascinating facts or the bridge to potential life change. I think all of us deep down want our story to matter to someone, but many of us share it with the hope also that it will

intrigue someone and maybe will become more interesting or even valuable. I once had someone

write me and write their story out and ask me, is this a bookworthy story?

I knew what they meant in terms of the hard-nosed, highly competitive publishing world, but it still

hurt my heart because being bookworthy is not the litmus test. All of our stories are worthy,

no matter how many twists and turns they have. The comparison game we play to say, this one is more epic than that one is really just silly and
