There were a lot of things about the whole thing that upset me, but the one that I thought was the most egregious

was actually not only taking him and giving him a new contract, guaranteed money, a biggest salary, and everything else,

but actually help him protect himself from the consequences of his actions, even if completely guilty.

I always like to have Joe on the podcast. One of my good friends, I always say this.

You know, when I came in the NFL, I never managed a cap. I never worked on player contracts

from the team side, only from the agent's side. And there's people that stand out, you remember

throughout your life, that really sort of helped you out, that really kind of served as sounding

boards and mentors. And I hope everyone listening has that as they progressed through that career.

But Joe Banner was certainly that for me, running the Eagles at the time and sort of learning

from afar and then up close on how he dealt with the cap and

the contracts and the business of the NFL which now I run a podcast that he's been a repeat visitor.
