Well, thank you everybody for joining us. I'm Father Chris, one of the Marian priests, and we're always honored to have you with us as we're continuing our taking you back to seminary. This is our Explaining the Faith series that has been going on since COVID began, and we're glad you with us. Today we're going back to seminary because they had a lot of courses my electives I always chose church

history and of course it's the history of the church but also the history of the world

intertwined because the church is so much a part of that and so today we're talking about Joan of

Arc and even though yes it is Fatima Day.

This is May 13th. This is our lady's month of May. This is a Saturday, our lady's day. This is

an anniversary of our lady who first appeared in 1917 and um we've done so many talks on fatima

that i figured i was going to do something a little different talk on joan of arc because the connection

with mary is actually very interesting and so it makes her fiat makes a very great example of somebody to turn to today in our look of the saints.

So let us begin with a prayer in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

Amen. Heavenly Father, we ask, as you send the Holy Spirit down upon us to open our minds and hearts

to receive your grace. Mother Mary, wrap your mantle around us on this day of Fatima, the

prophecies that you gave us through the children, that we may turn our lives back to God,

to repent, to pray, and to follow the lead of our

lady, and especially through the great example of St. Joan of Arc, and we ask all this through

Christ our Lord. Amen. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Well, you know, a lot of people don't,

they've heard of Joan of Arc. First of all, do you know that that's not her name? There's no city

of Arc in France. We think Joan Dark, Joan Dark, the apostrophe A-R-C, Joan of Arc.

In English, there is no Ark, and that is not her name.

We really don't know what her name is, but what we do have is some of the most documented

medieval historical evidence of this person who lived.

She affected everything from the course of history,
