Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost of Chicago, Illinois, an American has been elected Pope.

He will take the name Pope Leo the 14th. And let me tell you, my phone has been blowing up all day.

Friends and family alike have been asking me,

is this good? Is this bad? What do you think of this Pope? He has sort of a smattering of different

views on different issues. And so I thought I would hop on here with my friend, Jimmy Aiken. You

guys loved him when he was on a couple weeks ago. He's a senior apologist over at Catholic Answers. I, full disclosure here, have not prepared a show in the

traditional sense. I have not organized my thoughts on all this. I'm thinking of today's show.

Jimmy, not only is chatting with you about this, but kind of just unpacking it in real time,

a sort of stream of consciousness, kind of like all the voice memos I've been sending its answers today to my friends,

Well, I suppose I would say that the College of Cardinals voted broadly in lines with what I anticipated they would do.

And I think that's positive. And I think that's, uh, that's positive. Um, I also think it's

interesting to have the first American pope in history. And, uh, and that's kind of excited. But, uh,
