Jim Nill is the general manager of the Dallas Stars. In 2023, he was awarded the NHL's Jim Gregory General Manager of the Year Award after Dallas posted 108 points and 47 wins, their highest total in seven years.

Before going into the front office, Nill was a player, selected by the St. Louis Blues in the 1978 NHL Draft. He made his NHL debut in 1981 and played a total of 10 seasons with the Blues, Vancouver Canucks, Boston Bruins, Winnipeg Jets and Detroit Red Wings.
