Summary

The exodus of the Israelites from Egypt conjures up images of Pharaoh, the parting of the Red Sea, and the mountain where God gave us the Ten Commandments. Maybe one day someone will make a movie out of such a fantastic story! Who would think that a couple of weekend adventurers would play such an important part in the story? Enter Jim and Penny Caldwell, a couple who spent many a vacation clandestinely exploring the Sinai desert—camera in hand. What they discovered on their journeys is the stuff of legend. Remember the split rock Moses struck to quench the thirst of perhaps a million Israelites? Or the altar of the Golden Calf? Or the Cave of Elijah? Or the actual mountain of God—Mt. Sinai? 0:36.6	It's really good to have you here. And I want to hold up one of your products. It's called
0:42.6	Exploring Mount Sinai. And it's really four hours of video about this region around Mount Sinai.
0:50.5	I think everybody in the Christian world would immediately recognize Mount Sinai as the
0:57.0	mountain where the law was given.
0:59.0	Right.
1:00.0	And where Moses received the commandments from God.
1:04.0	But there's so much more to it than that, and we're going to get into that in just a minute.
1:09.0	First, I want to go back and sort of fill
1:12.3	in the beginning of the story. Back in 1992, Jim, you were an oil, I guess, engineer in Saudi
1:19.3	Arabia. Right. We had the pleasure to go over to Arabia and live there. We were originally,
1:31.9	I had promised my dear wife a couple of years and that we've come back and start a hardware business.
1:33.4	That's my plan.
1:35.2	But she agreed to go and we ended up staying there 12 years.
1:39.2	And what you're seeing in this DVD is 25 years of research and an accumulation of thousands of images and video.
1:47.0	But back to the beginning, in 19, after the Gulf War in 1992, at the end of 91, I had this vision of the Ark of the Covenant being brought back to the place that it was built,
2:00.0	and that this happened suddenly.
2:02.4	I was not a man prone to visions or anything like that, but it sent us on a trip into Egypt
2:08.4	to go to the traditional location of Mount Sinai.
2:12.0	And that's really where it all begins.
