My Lord and my God, I firmly believe that you are here, that you see me, that you hear me.

I adore you with profound reverence.

I ask your pardon for my sins and the grace to make this time of prayer fruitful.

My Immaculate Mother, St. Joseph, my Father and Lord,

my guardian angel intercede for me.

We read in the Gospel of St. Mark that Jesus said to them on that day,

when evening had come, let us cross over to the

other side.

And sending away the crowd, they took him just as he was in the boat.

And there were other boats with him.

And there arose a great squall, and the waves were beating into the boat so that the boat was now filling and he himself was in the stern of the boat on the cushion asleep

and they woke him and said to him master does it not concern you that we are perishing? Then rising up, he rebuked the wind and

said to the sea, Peace, be still, and the wind fell, and there came a great calm. And he said to them,

why are you fearful?

Are you still without faith?

And they feared exceedingly and said to one another,

Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?

In this passage we see how the winds and the waves are buffeting against the boat of Peter. And it is a very appropriate time actually to consider this very passage because in the past few weeks we have seen how the boat of Peter, the church

has been buffeted and really battered by many waves. Unfortunately, we have come to the knowledge

as a church of many scandals which we are all aware of first
