Welcome back behind the velvet rope. Let's just get right into it today because we are joined by the only Mr. Jerry O'Connell.

Listen Jerry royalty is in the house. My friend royalty is in the house. Now October 15th, the real love boat. Here we are.

October 5th is when it starts the 15th. I don't know what is happening on the 15th, but October 5th is when the real love boat premieres and it's pretty exciting.

It is October 5th. Yes, I'm listening. You know, if you had told me, you know, you and I are around the same age. If you had told me when I was young that, you know, one day I would be sitting here talking about a reality TV version of one of the longest running scripted TV shows of all time hosted by the kid from the

stand by me and his wife. I would have told you you were doing some pretty good drawings over there.

Thank you for not saying fact kid from stand by me. It, it was, it's, it is a part of history, you know, it's not just, it's not just some reality show. It's like, there's like a, there's like a history to the real love boat.

And it's funny just reading comments. People are like, you better not mess up the love boat. You, you better not.

You know, ruin a perfect show.

And I think we did it justice. I'm, I'm really proud of what we did. Did you grow up? I mean, you know, watching the love boat. You know, yeah.

It's funny. I do remember the love boat. I, I know you're going to roll your eyes, but I'm a little bit young for the love boat. But of course I remember it.

And fun only enough before I got this job on the real love boat. I said the producers, you know, I've never hosted a reality show. Is there anything I should do to prepare.

And one of our bosses, a guy named Eden, he does a lot of reality TV said, um, just watch the real, just watch the love boat. And we're trying to capture that feeling of love and yearning for love and trying to reclaim and recapture lost love.

We're trying to recreate that. So my homework assignment was to watch as many episodes of the original love boat as possible. And it's so funny revisiting it.

It is a rather emotional show. I mean, it, it, um, it really is about people trying to reignite that spark in their lives, whether it's a current relationship or looking for a new one or one that never happened.
