Jeremy, how did it feel to get blamed for someone's death after your show?

0:06.0

It's a really interesting question because I have to say that I've thought about that so many times over the last five years.

0:11.6

And that's the most important thing to say to you. Somebody died.

0:15.5

I know now, as I perhaps knew all the way through, but perhaps it's now out there.

0:20.1

There were many reasons

0:21.0

that Steve Diamond sadly took his own life. It was not down, as the coroner said, what, six

0:27.6

weeks ago, to ITV or the Jeremy Cow Show, but you become a really easy target. And I think if

0:32.8

you're doing a show like that, that's quite vociferous, quite raw, you put yourself out there. It was a

0:39.7

difficult time, not just for me. It was difficult for 100 kids who worked their asses off and

0:45.3

lost almost everything overnight. I guess if you're at the helm of that, certainly if you

0:50.5

names on it, then you expect to get criticism.

0:55.2

It was pretty full on for a while, I have to say.

0:57.8

And for me, there will be plenty of people who would say,

ah, he deserved it, he had that coming.

1:03.3

It's a television show.

1:05.3

As I said at the time, I played a person.

1:09.1

I didn't select after care, do any of that with the guests. I met Steve

1:13.8

Diamond, tragic Steve Diamond for 11 minutes. And for him and his family, it's so sad that

1:18.7

that happened. But it was really important that the truth came out. Five years was far too long,

1:23.7

COVID, of course, the legal system. And people who I will not get involved with criticizing ever, you know, all put their two pennyworth in. And in the meantime, COVID, of course, the legal system. And people who I will not get involved with criticizing

1:28.1

ever, you know, all put their too pennyworth in. And in the meantime, I was, I guess you'd

1:32.7

say, understandably, the man that got blamed for everything, to be fair. And so that whole
