Hello and welcome back to weekly wrap-up from the bunker.

0:15.1

I'm Jacob Jarvis.

If you've missed this show so far, we are trying something new.

Every Friday, we recap the biggest stories, the weirdest stories and some news that might have gone under the radar over the last week with some of your favourite bunker personalities and maybe even some panellists from O'Goddwart Now. Today I've got one who is a favourite bunker personality and a panelist from O'Gaudwtnow. I'm joined by Seth Tevo. Hi, Seth. Hello, hello. So, Seth, we normally start

0:39.1

with the strangest story of the week. And this week, we've been, that's been pleasantly decided for us,

0:45.1

it feels like, because just before we came to record, this story around Robert Jenrick,

0:51.1

the, you know, sort of vigilante, shadow minister, whatever you want to call and whatever

0:56.0

his job might be now, has been, or he's been sacked from his shadow minister position

1:01.0

over these reports that he was plotting to defect.

1:05.0

Badenock putting out a statement around it in quite dramatic fashion, it feels like.

1:09.0

I mean, what's your initial reaction to the fight of

1:13.5

Bob? I mean, firstly, he's not just that he's been sacked from the shadow cabinet. He's also had the whip

1:18.3

suspended as a Tory MP, and he's been expelled from membership of the Conservative Party with immediate

1:23.2

effects. It's like a Stalinist purge. It's a very low bar to be a member of the conservative party, so to be, to have that removed from him feels quite strange. Well, the other thing is that, you know, it does feel like an example of how the extreme left and the extreme right come quite close together in the way that they operate. You know, this is very much a Stalinist pur And what's interesting is that he had very obviously been on manoeuvres. Remember, this is somebody who was the runner-up to Kibi Bednock after the last election and was very much hoping, very transparently, to still be Tory leader and seeing what he could do. And it's clearly apparently decided that that wasn't going to happen and that his future was with Reform UK.

2:02.9

It suggests that the Tories do have a problem.

2:05.1

I mean, they've got this drip, drip of defections still to reform.

2:09.7

That doesn't necessarily mean that reform is on its way to government, but it does mean,

2:13.5

as you see whenever a large major party has a continuous drip of defections, all is not well

2:19.4

and they're not on their way through to victory. I actually am quite optimistic against the current

2:24.2

narrative about the Tory's chances of ultimately prevailing over reform for a number of reasons,

2:29.5

primarily the money. But that doesn't mean that they're not going to be, you know,

2:35.5

hard to see as viable for the next couple of years. With Robert Jenrick, I mean, I disagree with a lot of his positions
