A lot to get to today in a special edition of the Brants Rants, Business of Sports.

I know I had a pod with Joe Pumpliano last week, so it was kind of away from some of the

rants I wanted to do.

I have to get into the NCAA settlement, which is obviously months from completion, but I want to

talk about it here, a lot to unpack. But also I've got some stuff on the NBA. I've got stuff

on the WNBA, and I've got a lot of NFL issues based on some happenings in this offseason

of the last couple weeks. So let's get right to it. As I said, a lot to unpack about this NCAA settlement.

Let me give you some basics. So the NCAA is being sued a lot. There are lawyers. There have been

lots of lawyers against the NCAA because let's just set this up in basic terms that I tell my

sports law class, but it's elementary. If you or I said to a

player, you can't get money for this. When as a college, you say to a chemistry student, yeah,

you can go out and get money from Dow Chemical, say to an engineering student, sure, you can go out and get money from IBM. Or you say to a music

student, sure, you can go out and play for the New York Philharmonic or do more endorsements for them
