misstatement by the president of the United States which I doubt very much is going to be a profound factor but there it is in CBS News report

President Biden called longtime ally Japan xenophobic, a very fancy word for anxious about people

who are not from here, along with China and Russia blaming their economy's recent performances on racial prejudice.

Does this translate into Japanese concerns at all, the president's unusual statement declaring Japan's

xenophobic good evening to you. Good evening gentlemen and welcome from the

future. What Japan has its share of elderly politicians

who stray off the reservation time to time

and misspeak about things of various levels of importance.

So at some level the Japanese were not really concerned about this.

There was a bit of a peeved notion about it because it by and large ignored some pretty

Eventful changes by the Japanese in the past several years.

Even though Biden said that Japan is inophobic,

I noted that the Japanese embassy in Washington, D.C. said that they would restate their position

and the actual policies of the Japanese government to some poor bureaucrat in the U.S. State Department

who had to listen for the 900th time.

The Japanese actually employ more people under visa categories like that of the H-1B, the technical

specialist in Japan.
