We come to a headline, Japan Government to Drop Okinawa Evacuation Plan by March 2025.

Japan's Chief Cabinet Secretary Matsuno Irokouzu has indicated the government aims to drop

the plan by the end of March 2025, an initial stage plan to evacuate people from the country's

southwestern islands to Kyushu, doesn't say why, but we can guess.

It's a lovely fall day here, but the bottom just fell out with a huge thunderstorm.

The islands in question are sometimes difficult to follow because they're about a half a dozen

names for all of them in Japanese.

They're the southwest islands that stretch from Kyushu, almost a thousand miles to Taiwan.

The specific islands that Chief Cabinet Secretary Matsuno talked to the governors in Kyushu

about were the Sakishima Island Group, and it's actually four archipelagos.

One of them is the Sinkakus that Gordon knows well.
