And I'm Anna Palmer. Welcome to Immigration Week in Washington. President Donald Trump is scheduled to sign executive orders, jump-starting the construction of his border wall, cracking down on sanctuary cities, and applying new restrictions on visas.

This is the president making good on a number of his top campaign promises,

and will please Republicans on Capitol Hill and throw Democrats into a tizzy.

We love polls, and we have fresh poll numbers out today.

A new Politico morning consult poll shows that Donald Trump's inaugural speech resonated with Americans.

49% thought it was excellent or good, and 65% reacted positively to his America First rhetoric.

That beats back on some of the Acellicorder narrative that he bungled his first speech as commander-in-chief.

Even more interesting is that Americans want more Melania.

47% of people have a favorable impression of the First Lady.

49% have a favorable view of Ivanka.

This is also interesting. Paul Ryan is the only congressional leader above water in approval ratings.

Washington Republicans are heading to Philly this morning for their annual retreat.

These are typically boring affairs, but Donald Trump is speaking Thursday and Mike Pence will show up too.

Of course, we'll be there, but the media is being kept away in another hotel.
