Summary

We're gonna spend a few weeks going through some new rhythms for 2018... things that I want to solidify in my life and things y'all are asking about when it comes up in podcast convos. First up, my friend Nichole Nordeman is on the show talking about her new book Slow Down and the power of recording God's faithfulness through journaling. (Y'all KNOW I'm a journaler, so duh we're starting here.) Check our her book and her music and fall in love with one of the best writers I know. http://www.nicholenordeman.com http://100daystobrave.com http://anniefdowns.com #thatsoundsfunpodcast ... join in the conversation wherever hashtags are welcome. :)  Thanks to our friends at ThirdLove for sponsoring this episode! 0:13.4

excited about a new year and excited for what God has for you this year. I just wanted

0:18.5

to kind of give a quick overview of something we're going to do a little different for the

0:22.1

next few weeks and so that you aren't surprised by it. Nothing is really changing about

0:26.5

that sounds fun podcast. I'm still bringing my friends on as I do and still introducing

0:31.3

you to people and ideas that I think are important and cool and I like when my friends become

0:35.2

friends with my friends. So that is why we do this podcast. But I've also had a lot of

0:40.0

conversations with you guys on Twitter and an email lately about a couple of the topics

0:45.9

that we keep going back to. And so I wanted to kind of had some episodes that really

0:51.6

focused on some different rhythms, some different rituals, some different kind of things

0:57.0

you can bring into your life that will lead to hopefully a healthier, more full, more

1:04.2

balanced life. And I think when we think about New Year's resolutions and we think about

1:08.0

how we want this year to be the baseline is healthier, right? The baseline is we just

1:14.1

want to be healthier humans, body, soul and spirit. And so we just kind of wanted to

1:18.4

share about a couple of rhythms that I'm bringing more focused into my life that have changed

1:25.1

my life in the past. And so we have a guest today that I'm going to tell you more about

1:29.5

here in a minute. But there is a lot of exciting cool stuff going on with her that we talk

1:33.8

about. But also we talk about journaling because you all know journaling is a big part

1:37.1

of my life. If you remember the episode with Luke Norseworthy from the fall, you know,

1:40.9

we talked a ton about journaling and why it matters and how it's changed my life. And

1:45.7

so that is what kind of the first rhythm we're going to talk about is, is it's important

1:52.0

to when you're reading your Bible, when you're experiencing life things to be writing down,
