Tonight I'll be reading part four,

chapters eight and nine of Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen.

In the previous chapters, we learn of Catherine and Isabella's great enthusiasm for Gothic novels

and Catherine's particular current obsession with Aldolfo.

We also meet each of the two girls' brothers, James Morland and John Thorpe, having just

come into town.

Isabella and James evidently have an affection for each other, but Catherine is repelled by

John's bragging and rude behaviour.

She feels pressured, however, to later say that she enjoyed his company, and John engages

her to dance at the ball with him that evening.

Now that we're caught up with the story so far, let's get ourselves ready for sleep.

Start by taking a deep, relaxing bread.

And settle your body in whatever way feels most comfortable.
