Welcome to The Beat. I am Mari Melba. We're discussing and tracking several developments that are really going to put legal heat on Donald Trump.

I got special guests for this for you right now because there's a conviction on all counts against the entire Trump organ.

Now, tonight reporting on new secret documents discussed in the open criminal case about Mar-a-Lago where Trump has faced one setback after another.

Here's what we know. Donald Trump lost that bid to slow this case down with a special master.

Now his team is finding new secret documents. If you're thinking, well, I heard about these

secret documents already. You did. Your mind's not playing tricks on you, but these are new,

additional ones.

And depending on the details, they could be criminal.

The reason these are coming out now is because of a judge's order that requires Trump to have his team scour for any other classified material that is on his properties or in his effective possession. So at least two items with

classified markings now found at a Trump storage unit, this one in Florida, and it was found by an

outside team that Trump had to hire. That material is now with the FBI. So while Trump loudly and

publicly complained about the DOJ search of his home,

what you see here is the system working in a way,

because behind the scenes, he's basically buckling as compared to defying and okaying these several searches by this independent team.

Another interesting thing here that goes into the details,

but matters and could be bad news for Trump

is these searches, they go beyond Mar-a-Lago, which was originally and dramatically searched by the

feds. Ex-presidents don't usually get treated like that, but ex-presidents haven't usually been

caught with this many alleged stolen classified documents.

Now they're going beyond Mar-a-Lago, to Trump Tower we're learning, and to his golf club in New Jersey.

The criminal probe here is led by the new special counsel Jack Smith.

That could provide more focus at the DOJ, and everything I just told you is at the federal level.
