Welcome back to I'm interested and here we go with our first significant

departure of this podcast so what I promised you when we launched this was that

we would talk about sports every week the entire

function of this podcast was that I would choose people that I find interesting

and I would interview them about the things that make them interesting to me. And we have thus far had

fabulous conversations. We talked about football with Amy Trask and we talked

about basketball with Michelle Roberts and we talked about college football with

Paul Feinbaum.

But I promised you that we would take a few detours.

And here is our first.

And I will tell a quick story to set this up. So when Mike and I first launched Mike and Mike in

2000, we were sort of an underground phenomenon and in 2006 we got on the David Letterman show. One of the first

really big things that ever happened to us was we were invited on the David Letterman

show and I was so moved because a lot of people who had been fans of ours from the beginning felt a sense of actual personal pride that they sort of knew of us when we were absolutely nothing and there we were now on the

Letterman show and I remember getting those notes and feeling great about it. So

fast forward many years later it's last I want to say November or

December and I see that the impractical jokers I want to say November or December.

And I see that the impractical jokers

are playing Madison Square Garden.

And in all honesty, I felt personally proud.

I felt so proud of these guys, of Mur and of Q and of Sal and of Joe,

otherwise known as the Tenderloins when they tour doing their stand-up comedy, but I feel like I've known these guys back when no one knew them.
