Before we dive into today's block of scripture, I think that's an important thing to mention

Whenever you have an opportunity to share things like we're doing, you need to understand

So we should set up what's happening here with Jacob 5.

So the video is going to focus primarily on Jacob 5,

even though the reading assignment is Jacob 5 through 7.

And we saw in the past that when Isaiah is quoted in the scriptures, particularly in first

and second Nephi, first they lay out an introduction, then they do the quote, and then

they explain what they've done.

And we see something similar here in these Jacob chapters, where Jacob has had this incredible

speech he's been doing at the temple.

And so Jacob, and we'll read these

verses at the end of chapter four, sets up why he's going to quote from an ancient Israelite

prophet named Zenus. And then in chapter six, Jacob then interprets why he quoted Zenus,

which happens to be the longest chapter in the book of Mormon. And when I was a teenager, this was the chapter I always loved to skip in my reading assignments.
