Hi, I'm Gary Stearman and pleased today to have in studio here at Prophecy Watchers,

author Jack Langford. He's the author of this particular book. We're talking about this one,

but he's written several. It's called The Gap is Not a Theory. Jack, welcome to

prophecy watcher. Glad to be here. Glad to share time with you, Gary. It's been a privilege

and enjoyable privilege. We have made a program and we're going to do some more programming

in studio, too, on the subject of the age of the earth. You call yourself an old earth creationist.

That's correct. I would be in that category.

Meaning that you do believe in divine creation, not evolution for sure,

but you also believe that the earth is rather ancient.

And I believe that it's necessary to take the scriptures literally, exactly as they're written.

And when we do that, we'll be surprised that we're not able to define with exactness the age of the earth, and we'll define exactly

what happens during the six days and the cataclysmic before. So I believe in taking the Bible

literally, and I believe in preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ, that actually the picture of a gap, the distinction between verse 2 and verse 3 is used by the

Apostle Paul as a pedestal to preach the gospel. God who called a light into existence has

shine in our hearts, the good news of the Lord Jesus Christ. So we can all have a gap in our life

when we're raised in our trespasses and sins

and suddenly we see the light of the knowledge of salvation

in Jesus Christ.

And you're talking in your book,

and right now you're discussing the Genesis chapter 1 verse 2 and the earth

was without form and void and darkness was upon the face of the deep and the spirit of

God of God moved upon the face of the waters and up to that point it's darkness but in the in the next verse, verse 3, that God said,
