So if you walked up to me on the street and you asked me,

what is the tightrope podcast all about?

I was thinking here are the things I would say. First off, it's a conversational space,

but it's not just any conversational space. We don't pre-plan it all out with fixed positions.

More importantly, it's a conversational space built on two key principles, love and justice.

That doesn't mean we're always in agreement, doesn't mean we don't disagree with others,

doesn't mean that we don't tell hard truths, but the love and justice stand at the heart of what we're trying to do.

We also love to lift people up and to have a good time, because Cornell West is actually one of the funniest people I've ever met, truly a funny person.

But we always tell the truth as we see it.
