his dear, dear friend, Dave Damashek, here we are Friday, the Friday before Valentine's Day,

Dave, are you doing it up, right? What goes on with you on Valentine's Day? Well,

philosophically, maybe we've never talked about this, but I am opposed to Valentine's Day.

I'm opposed to institutionalized requirement to be romantic.

It's the antithesis of romance.

It gives everybody else a chance to play catch up for the true Lothios out there who understand that any time is a good

time to to treat your beloved the right if they put a poll up as uh who's men or women who's

opposed to valentine's day they take a stand it would have to be like 97% men and right three

I mean maybe women are too but i i find overwhelmingly

men are like ah because they don't want to go out and get a car i do it upright i'm going to shame you

here i send to my sister's flowers i send the uh my wife's old lady flowers i send to my wife

and my mother and um and it's of those things. I did it like 15

years ago. And then once you do it once, you can't stop, right? Well, you already have Mother's Day,

though. Now, I know all your female relatives aren't mothers, but that's the day you honor

them in that regard. I guess. You do you. But here's the problem with, with Mother's Day, with Valentine's Day.

It's among, it's not the worst holiday. Of course, the worst holiday is Labor Day, a holiday that celebrates the work, aka the man.

I'm not going to be party to that. But Valentine's Day is this supposed day to celebrate the coupling, your soulmate and all of that. But Valentine's Day is this supposed day to celebrate the coupling, your soulmate and all

of that, except that it only celebrates the woman. How come I don't get a gift? Why don't I get
