I look more upstream and there right in front of me, this big male, he was literally right across the creek for me, staring directly at me.

Well that would explain the bad feeling I suppose right.

How close would you say he was to you?

No more than 35 feet.

From the brush, all I could see was the upper part of his chest and up.
