Hello and welcome to the Guardian Football Weekly, the Euro 2020 final preview.

We always intended to do this pod, you know, look ahead to two European giants playing in another

final, probably France versus Portugal, getting out of the group of death, and here they are,

back again, they'd be a bit on Wales and Scotland, bravely performing against the odds, and of course

that bit on England knocked out again by two late Thomas Muller goals against Germany.

We'd be interested, but perhaps not invested, but we used to that, we know how to do that.

Instead, we have this, England in the final, and the oddest thing about it is, it doesn't feel

that odd. Italy have a glorious midfield, an experienced manager, a joyous central defence,

they're good, but England are good, they could actually win, they might not, but they could.

We'll look at how and why they might, we'll assess the strengths and weaknesses of both sides.
