Summary

Tonight’s guest, Byron Maldonado, is an electrician who lives in Lake Tahoe. He had only been living in Tahoe for 4 months when he had his sighting, though. On the day when he had his sighting, he was driving down to Carson City, Nevada, to get electrical supplies for the following week’s work. The drive to Carson City is 1 he’d made several times before. The day he had his sighting, however, he decided to go a different way than how he normally went. He took a different route because he was in the mood for a bit of change. What he wound up experiencing was quite a bit more than he was hoping for, though. We hope you’ll listen to him share what happened to him, so you’ll be able to understand how different things went compared to what he expected.

0:00.0	Hi, everyone. My name is Pirate Mautanado. I'm 41 years old. I'm an electrician by trade.
0:08.4	Coincidentally, that's the reason why I ended up in South Lake Tahoe as of February 2022.
0:16.4	By the time I actually had my bigfoot sighting, I had already been in Tahoe for approximately
0:24.8	a little under four months. By this point, I've already set a set schedule and routine.
0:32.1	Twice a week, I head down to Carson for many reasons, one being merchandise and stocking material.
0:40.9	And the other is quite simply trying to save some money and fueling my truck because the gas is
0:46.6	cheaper in Nevada as opposed to what it is in California. So on the day in question,
0:54.8	you know, I was going about my business, you know, taking care of all my things. I'm
0:58.6	my to-do list for the day, and which is usually followed by going down to Carson to stock
1:04.2	material for the following week. Now, this day was different from all the other days because
1:10.6	I was thinking, I think I'm going to go down to different routes. I'm pretty much already burnt
1:15.4	out from all the rest of the routes I take to Carson City, which there's only three,
1:21.3	one is which is on the main highway, which has a lot of ups and downs turns. And then there's
1:28.1	the other one, which goes through the mountains. And that one actually takes you to much higher
1:33.8	altitude. So I think I've seen the highest altitude with 7,000. And then there's Luther Pass.
1:40.8	Now, Luther Pass Road, I've always taken that road to come back because it feels more chill,
1:47.7	you know, for a certain point, you lose a reception, so undisturbed, no calls, nothing to worry.
1:54.4	So I was like, okay, I'm going to take it the opposite direction this time. To be honest with you,
1:59.5	it was a different ride. The scenery looked different. I feel like I paid more attention to detail.
2:05.8	And that's where my sighting begins. So as I passed the agriculture checkpoint,
2:12.6	I'm from California, so they don't stop me. So I went around it. And I started noticing the names
2:18.9	of the streets, which were Santa Claus related. There's a street called Santa Claus Drive,
