Summary
This time in our longform weekend podcast - Glenn runs down the legal recap of the week and he discusses how the rule of law is keeping democracy in place. The rule of law is the only thing that can right our American ship. We must do not only the easy prosecutions, like the crimes designed to steal elections... we need to do the hard prosecutions, including sitting members of Congress who defy subpoenas - like Jim Jordan - and the representatives who requested pardons because they knew they had committed crimes on and around Jan.6 and they wanted to get away with those crimes. First Glenn discusses the Georgia prosecution which will be televised. Glenn says he's pleased that Judge McAfee appears to be a smart, fair, decisive, and professional judge. Then he talks about the head of the Proud Boys, Enrique Tarrio, who was sentenced to 22 years in prison. Glenn points out that Trump appointed Judge Timothy Kelly misspoke when he said Tarrio was the "ultimate organizer and ultimate leader" of what happened on Jan. 6. No, Trump is the ultimate organizer and leader of the insurrection. Next, constitutional scholars are coming together in the opinion that Trump is already disqualified from holding office again, as a result of section 3 of the 14th Amendment. Glenn discusses how this might play out in court. Then finally, Jim Jordan is now obstructing Trump's Georgia state RICO prosecution. Glenn explains why it is time to hold Jordan accountable for his crimes.
