Happy Friday. Thanks for joining us on the Bill Press pod, and welcome to this week's

Routers Roundtable, looking back at the big news of the week, a week that kept us all very busy,

and it's not over yet. On this Friday morning, we're once again on the

brink of a government shutdown, and unless things change in the next 40 hours or so, we could be

over the brink by Saturday night. But rather than find a way to keep the government running,

House Republicans spent their time this week trying to impeach

President Biden, which kind of backfired when the witnesses they called said there was no evidence

meriting impeachment. Meanwhile, 26 Democratic senators so far have called on Bob Menendez to resign.

Seven GOP presidential candidates spent two hours attacking each other, and Donald Trump said

the nation's top generals should be executed for treason.

Other than that, it was a quiet week.

Okay, before we get to the news of the day, a sad note to begin with. We have just learned

that Senator Diane Feinstein, California senior senator, who's been suffering ill health for a couple of

years, passed last night at the age of 90. I have to tell you, my own personal reaction. I first met

Diane Feinstein in 1969, which dates us both when she was running for office for the first

time. She won that race, became chairman of the Board of Supervisors in San Francisco. So I knew
