As a mom or a dad, you're the best person to show your kids that following

God is more than going to church on Sunday mornings or saying an occasional

prayer at mealtime.

From an early age, your child is watching you to see what it looks like

to walk with God in everyday life.

I'm John Fuller along with Dr. Danny Wererta. He heads up our parenting and youth

department here at Focus on the Family and we're going to start off with a clip

from Dr David Clark. He's an author, writer, and licensed psychologist.

He sat down with Focus President Jim Daly and me and shared some really helpful advice

about encouraging your child's faith. You talk a lot about, and I think it's faith.

You talk a lot about, and I think it's great, how your dad modeled faith for you.

How did he do that practically?

Boy, dad, every morning of my life, dad would have his quiet time time he knew when I got up every morning

Monday through fire to go to school and he wanted to make sure I saw him in the hallway

actually in the doorway of the family room in his rocking chair, had his Bible,

I had his devotional, and so I would see him

every single morning doing that.
