Here's the thing, especially relative to you.

I didn't think Mac Jones was going to be this good.

You know, I called them, you know, I said in April, I'm like, well, they't think Mac Jones was going to be this good. You know, I called him,

you know, I said in April, I'm like, well, they already have Mac Jones on the roster. His name's Jared Stidham. So I wasn't as wise to how good this player was going to be as you were. The only

thing that I based his starting on was what I've seen since mini camp.

Proficiency, accuracy, decision making, poise, the ability to rebound from bad days.

And the Patriots coaching staff just throwing more and more and more at him.

But over the last week, Phil, when people were wondering whether or not he was going

to get a chance to start, I based everything on what I was seeing in terms of reps and performance,

feeling that in my heart of hearts, being afraid of him starting or being afraid of a Cam Newton
