Well, I'm John Gannert.

A lot of people say Ganturt, but it's really pronounced Gannert.

There was a time in John Gannert's life when things got bad, really bad.

He got evicted from his apartment, then his girlfriend dubbed him.

To cope, John decided to escape to different worlds.

He started writing science fiction. I know this is stupid, but it's about an apocalyptic earth and follows a team of pilots.

The stories are inspired by the ones his grandpa, a World War II pilot used to tell him.

But they're also about what John was going through at that time.

They're fighting tight G's. They're exploring another atmosphere. They're burning up in the

atmosphere. They're trying, there's something going wrong. The more action that's in the book,

that was one of my worst days being fired. I just kind of harness all that negative energy

and I had to put it into writing.
