This is a good colleague Peter Berkowitz of the Hoover Institution, big picture. The Middle East right now is reduced to waiting,

counting seconds until the Iranians launched there, whatever.

Along with their ring of fire, Hezbollah to the north,

Khatib Hezbollah to the east, Iran to the east, Huthis to the east, and Hamas to the south.

However, there is worth in discussing how we got here and I welcome Peter Berkowitz of the

Hoover Institution who writes at real clear politics about the intentions of Iran

launching this war. What was their aim? Why all this grief? Why these months of casualties, how did that serve Iran's purpose?

Well, to explain even briefly what Iran intended when this war was started,

or we should say, this round of the war was started or we should say this round of the war in

October 7th when Hamas barbarically assaulted southern Israel. We do have to step

back and look at the big picture. Iran has been effectively building up militias around the Middle East.

You used accurately their term a ring of fire around Israel that is designed to

slowly but steadily wear down in the spirit the Jewish state.

All the militias you mentioned are Iran backed with the

too much significant immediately on Israel's border, Hamas and the Gaza Strip and

and Hezbollah in in southern Lebanon. On October 7th, the Iran-backed Hamas, led by I-Sinois,

took things into its own hands.

Without perfect coordination, apparently apparently with Iran.
