And we're life. Welcome back to the Loopcast. It's Tom Erica and Josh. We have so much news to be covering today. But I think I'm personally very disturbed by what I saw last night.

Anytime that there's any escalation towards war as a Catholic and as an American, just greatly disturbed me as I think a lot of people.

So the service I want to provide in today's episode is to just very calmly

address the lead up, the attack itself, the response we're seeing from Israel, Iran, and America,

and then talk a little bit about justification in context. I've seen a lot of debate about it.

I know it's a very contentious issue for people all over the world, but I will just, you know, put forward our biases to those who don't listen to the show. We are Americans and

we are Catholics. So that's what I'm hoping to do in this episode. I know Erica and Josh are on

board. So if we could start just immediately today with footage from what came over last night

in American time, early morning in the Middle

East. But we have plumes major attacks from Israel into Iran's nuclear facilities. It's been

confirmed by both the IDF and Iran. Iran is pledging retaliatory strikes at this point in time.

I haven't seen any footage of those strikes.

But yeah, huge plumes. This is a massive attack. I'm going to get a little bit into casualties

soon, but I think it's important to start with the lead up to this surprising many people.

The Trump administration was engaged in negotiations that were hoping to get a deal done.

Clearly,

this didn't happen. So leading up to the tax, for the first time in 20 years, the International

Atomic Energy Agency condemned Iran for not complying with its nuclear proliferation promises,

well beyond the 250 kilograms of uranium enriched to 20 percent. According to the IAEA data, Iran now has enough uranium

enriched to 60% for nine atomic bombs. Israel did say this, Benjamin Netanyahu will get to his

press conference, but he said this in his talk as well. And the United States did evacuate

non-essential staff from the U.S. embassy in Baghdad and family members on military bases in the Gulf evacuated from the U.S. leading up to this.
