| 1:02.0 | What is so interesting is that Mahmoud Abbas, the president of the Palestinian Authority, |
| 1:06.0 | is known to be someone who was supported nonviolence famously in 2005. |
| 1:11.0 | He brought an end to the second into Fata as it was known. |
| 1:15.0 | This was a war launched by his predecessor, Yasser Arafat, who encouraged Palestinians |
| 1:21.0 | to go out and murder Israelis, suicide bombings and horrific attacks. |
| 1:25.0 | He brought an end to that, and that earned him a reputation of being nonviolent. |
| 1:31.0 | But what we have seen since, in the 15, 18 years since he's been in power, |
| 1:37.0 | is that he's actually been encouraging such violence through other means. |
| 1:41.0 | He pays the families of terrorists who are sitting in Israeli jails, |
| 1:46.0 | who have been convicted of murder, who've been convicted of terrorism charges. |
| 1:53.0 | And so Congress has taken action. Famously, there's a piece of legislation known as the Taylor Force Act, |
| 1:59.0 | named after a young man who, an American man who was killed by a Palestinian terrorist in, actually, in Jaffa. |
