Jewish Organizations. We're very pleased to welcome Yoni Ben-Narachim, veteran Arab

affairs and commentator for Israel Radio and Television, Senior Middle East Analyst

for the Jerusalem Center. Yoni, the Iranian authorities are responsible for attacks, several

attacks on Israel in these last days. This comes amid lots of peacetalk in the Middle

East. What is your measure now as to why Iran is provoking in this aggressive fashion?

What do they get out of it? Good evening to you, Yoni.

Good evening to you and to Malcolm. What we see is what I call misconception of the Iranians

or the axis of resistance or the axis of evil headed by Iran. They misinterpret what

is happening in Israel. They think that Israel is a lot weaker than it used to be and this

is the right timing to start attacking Israel from different fronts, from Gaza, from South

of Lebanon and from Syria and maybe also in the future from Yemen and from Iraq. Why do

they think that Israel is weak because of two major reasons. The first one, of course,

is the internal division inside Israel over the judicial reform and the wave of protest,

unprecedented wave of protest that we see in Israel and now. And the second reason is

the relationship between the Prime Minister Netanyahu and President Biden and the crisis

and the refusal of Biden so far to invite Netanyahu to the White House. So they think this

is the right time now to start attacking Israel and this is what they do. They use the

holy months of Ramadan, the holy months for Muslims, of course. And they launched attacks,

rocket attacks from Gaza and from South of Lebanon and from Syria.

Malcolm. Syria, we see the increasing number of responses by Israel to the shipments by Iran,

especially using the humanitarian aid shipments as a cover to send in more and more sophisticated
