former head of the Counterterrorism Bureau at the Prime Minister's Office.

General, a very good evening to you. Thank you for joining us. We go immediately to the struggle with Hamas, especially in the Rafa area. Can you help us understand where that contest is? These last days, the news from Jerusalem Post and the Times of Israel has been that the worst of the

fighting is behind us.

Where are we now?

Good evening, general.

Good evening. Thank you for having me. I can describe two major efforts that we have today around Gaza.

One of them, as you mentioned, is around Rafa, the Philadelphia Corridor, which is the borderline between Egypt and Gaza Strip, that we took in the last few days in order to block and shut down all the Hamas overall effort to recover by smuggling everything they need through the Egyptian border.

And that will be one of the key points for the next future

regarding any future agreement about what will be the end state in Gaza.

And secondly, is the offensive we launched today in the neighborhood of

Sir Jaya which present two major issues one the freedom of maneuver that we have.

Actually, whenever we have good intelligence,

we can maneuver and strike the Hamas new positions

or the Hamas new establishments and make sure that they will not be able to

control the area and that presents not only the freedom of maneuver we have but also the good intelligence we can get from those

who whom we arrested and from other sources we have.

So everywhere in Gaza, when Hamas will try to rebuild himself,
