to Gaza. We don't yet know the full extent of the impact of Israel's decision to deprive

Palestinians of electricity,

but we do know that the last facility in Gaza still receiving power from the Israel Electric Corporation,

Dai al-Bala's desalination plant, has been cut off. For now, it's running on solar panels and generators,

and can only produce around one-seventh as much clean water as it could

with mains electricity. The facility has some fuel stored, but when that runs out, it will be

entirely reliant on solar power. Around half a million Palestinians in Gaza are completely

reliant on the plant for clean drinking water. UN Special Rapporteur for the occupied Palestinian territory, Francesca Albanese, said this.
