Hey there from CNN. I'm Krista Bow with the five things you need to know for Tuesday, September 9th.

Israel has carried out an attack against Hamas leadership in Cutter's capital, according to the

prime minister's office. Shortly after the explosion in Doha, the Israeli military said it targeted

the senior leadership of Hamas with what it called a precise strike. A spokesperson for Qatar's

foreign ministry said the attack targeted residential buildings,

housing several members of the Hamas Political Bureau in Doha, and called it a criminal assault

and a blatant violation of international laws.

By the time we published, it was unclear if anyone has been killed.

This Israeli strike appears to have primarily targeted Khalil Al-Haya, who is Hamas' leader,

and who has also been the chief negotiator involved in these ceasefire and hostage-release negotiations

since the very first days of this war.
